The Eurofound project ‘Exploring the employment and working conditions related to specific types of platform work’ focussed on the status and position of platform workers, assessing the relevant regulations and role of representative bodies in five selected EU Member States (Germany, France, Italy, Poland and Sweden). Under the aegis of the Austrian Presidency, Austria was added as a 6th country to this study. Besides a comparative analysis of the legal framework in the countries under scope, the study categorised and selected specific types of platform work, examined the working conditions of platform workers, determined the implications of platform work on workers’ social protection and analysed the effects of platform work on the labour market.
